Understanding the Sernandoe GTA 6 Fake Disc Stunt

The core of the Sernandoe GTA 6 fake controversy involves a video where the creator showed a physical game case with professional looking cover art. However upon closer inspection the box art was merely a fan made design found on Reddit and the disc inside was actually a repurposed GTA 5 disc or a blank DVD. This type of content is designed to trigger the YouTube algorithm by using high search volume keywords and sensationalist thumbnails. In reality Rockstar Games does not produce physical discs until weeks before the actual launch making a copy in 2017 or 2020 a physical impossibility.

Why the Community Flagged the Content as Fraudulent

Gamers and tech experts quickly pointed out that the gameplay shown in these videos was often modded GTA 5 footage or clips from other open world games like Watch Dogs or Sleeping Dogs. Furthermore the absence of any real UI elements or unique animations confirmed the fabrication. For those building high end PC rigs to play the eventual release seeing such low quality misinformation was particularly frustrating. The intent was purely navigational to capture traffic from users searching for any news on the highly anticipated sequel.
